Position Summary
As a Slipform Paver Machine Operator at the company, you will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of Gomaco or Wirtgen paving equipment on a variety of civil, municipal, and commercial concrete projects.
This role is ideal for experienced operators who take pride in precision paving and enjoy working with advanced equipment and dedicated field teams.
You will oversee machine setup, alignment, grade control, and production, while collaborating closely with the site crew to produce high-quality curb, gutter, sidewalks, barriers, slabs, and other slipformed structures. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth execution and success of the company’s field operations.

Position Summary
As a Slipform Paver Machine Operator at the company, you will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of Gomaco or Wirtgen paving equipment on a variety of civil, municipal, and commercial concrete projects.

You will oversee machine setup, alignment, grade control, and production, while collaborating closely with the site crew to produce high-quality curb, gutter, sidewalks, barriers, slabs, and other slipformed structures. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth execution and success of the company’s field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Gomaco or Wirtgen slipform paving machines for curb-and-gutter, sidewalk, barrier, and slab placement
- Set up and adjust machine controls, sensors, vibrators, molds, and grade systems (stringline or 3D)
- Read and interpret site plans, grades, and specifications to ensure accurate paving results
- Perform daily equipment inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and minor mechanical maintenance
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
- Work closely with concrete crews to coordinate delivery, finishing, and production flow
- Monitor concrete mix consistency, machine alignment, and output quality throughout production
- Install and manage stringline or assist with 3D machine control system setup (Topcon/Leica/Gomaco systems)
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and compliance with the company’s safety policies and Alberta OH&S regulations
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting paving equipment when required
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew
- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating Gomaco or Wirtgen slipform paving machines
- Strong understanding of slipform paving processes and concrete behavior
- Ability to interpret blueprints, grades, and civil construction specifications
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve minor equipment issues
- Experience with stringline and/or 3D machine control systems is a strong asset
- Valid driver’s license required; Class 1 or 3 is an asset
- Safety certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, and Fall Protection are considered assets
- Physically capable of working outdoors in variable weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks
- Precision-driven and mechanically skilled
- Strong problem-solving abilities in fast-paced site environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to the company’s safety-first culture
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and concrete construction environments
- Physically demanding tasks requiring stamina, mobility, and awareness
