The Alberta Society of Radiologists (ASR) is a not-for-profit organization representing radiologists and radiology residents across the Province of Alberta.

Why This Role Matters The Member Engagement and Communications Lead plays a critical role in strengthening how ASR connects with its members and communicates the value of belonging to the Society. This position is responsible for both strategic planning and hands-on execution of member communications, including writing, editing, and producing high-quality content.

You are a strategic thinker and skilled content creator who understands member needs, translates insights into meaningful experiences, and ensures members feel informed, supported, and connected through clear, engaging communications.

This is a part-time, on-site position (24 hours per week) based in NW Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities Member Engagement & Experience
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen member engagement, satisfaction, retention, and growth across Alberta
  • Proactively gather member feedback through surveys, conversations, and data analysis, using insights to inform services, programs, and communications
  • Collaborate with the ASR team to ensure programs and services align with member priorities
  • Support and contribute to the effectiveness of member committees
Communications & Content Creation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy, including regular operational communications and special initiatives such as membership renewals, events, and advocacy activities
  • Write, edit, and produce high-quality content for emails, newsletters, website copy, social media, campaign materials, event promotions, and announcements
  • Craft clear, compelling messaging that articulates ASR’s value, impact, and relevance to current and prospective members
  • Personally manage and execute communications across channels (email platforms, website updates, social media, etc.)
  • Ensure consistency of tone, brand, and messaging across all communications
  • Work closely with ASR leadership to align messaging and priorities, while maintaining ownership of content development and execution
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as website enhancements and digital engagement improvements
Marketing, Outreach & Growth
  • Design and deliver integrated campaigns that elevate the profile of radiology in Alberta
  • Identify opportunities to better communicate ASR’s value proposition to different audiences, including residents, early-career professionals, and established practitioners
  • Develop communications for corporate supporters to strengthen relationships and support mutually beneficial partnerships
Events & Member Programming Support
  • Write and manage event-related communications, including invitations, promotional content, registration messaging, and vendor communications
  • Draft post-event surveys, summaries, and impact communications to support continuous improvement
Data, Tools & Continuous Improvement
  • Use digital analytics to monitor engagement, track outcomes, and inform future communication strategies
  • Contribute to improving communication systems, templates, workflows, and processes
  • Adapt effectively during periods of technological or organizational change
What We’re Looking For Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, member engagement, marketing, or stakeholder relations (experience within associations, professional societies, or nonprofits is an asset)
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences and platforms
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently
  • Strong relationship-building skills and confidence engaging directly with members and external partners
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate goals into practical, well-executed communications and campaigns
  • Experience creating digital content, including email campaigns, website updates, and social media
  • Comfort using digital tools and managing website content to support strong user experiences
