Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Toronto-based global financial services organization to hire a Vice President, Fund Accounting – Hedge Funds! This will be a permanent opportunity supporting the continued growth of a high-performing fund accounting team.
 
Benefits & Perks
  • Compensation: $115,000–$155,000 CAD + annual performance-based bonus
  • Please note, this role will be Hybrid at the client’s downtown Toronto, ON office (3 days a week / 12 times a month)

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Managers, Supervisors, and indirect offshore team members
  • Ensure all client deliverables are completed accurately and on time, meeting service level expectations
  • Act as a senior client contact, partnering with investors, investment managers, auditors, banks, brokers, and other fund participants
  • Support business growth by leveraging existing client relationships and participating in client presentations and proposals
  • Manage operational targets including staffing levels, productivity, overtime, and budget oversight
  • Conduct performance evaluations and ensure ongoing professional development across the team
  • Collaborate closely with auditors and external stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve issues efficiently
  • Lead and participate in strategic initiatives and projects tied to business expansion and operational evolution
  • Continuously assess processes to eliminate inefficiencies and drive operational excellence
  • Ensure alignment with firm-wide initiatives and foster a cohesive, high-performing team environment
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA or equivalent designation is an asset
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, with a strong focus on hedge fund accounting
  • 3+ years of people management experience, including team development and performance management
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to support new business growth
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with the ability to assess risk and make sound operational decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated, results-driven leader with experience managing teams through growth and change
