About the Opportunity
The Safety Manager will focus on designing and implementing safety programs while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence safety culture and lead initiatives that have meaningful, organization-wide impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and advance organization-wide safety initiatives by developing, implementing, and refining safety management and audit programs
  • Advise leadership and internal teams on safety legislation, regulatory compliance, and federal requirements
  • Develop practical safety policies, procedures, and guidance to support consistent application across operations
  • Identify risks and trends through data analysis, incident reviews, and operational insights, and recommend preventative and corrective actions
  • Support incident investigations and ensure corrective measures are effectively communicated and implemented
  • Develop, monitor, and report on safety performance metrics to support strategic planning and decision-making
  • Design and support safety training frameworks and competency programs aligned with regulatory standards and organizational needs
  • Provide expertise in emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and coordination across teams
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align safety practices with claims management, return-to-work, and employee support programs
  • Contribute expertise to discussions on job demands, workforce capabilities, and sustainable return-to-work outcomes
  • Support the development of annual safety priorities, work plans, and budgets
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including management and leadership roles
  • Proven track record leading safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement projects
  • Strong knowledge of safety management systems, legislation, and federal regulatory requirements
  • Experience with claims management, return-to-work programs, and employee support initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures and emergency response plans
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and safety analytics tools
  • Professional designations such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) are an asset
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Compensation
  • Annual salary range is $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
