We’re seeking an experienced Project Leader to take ownership of end-to-end delivery for complex infrastructure and construction-focused projects. This is a high-visibility, 12-month contract for someone who thrives in structured project environments, understands governance, and knows how to balance scope, schedule, cost, and quality in live construction settings.

This hybrid role is based in Bowmanville, ON with flexibility to work remotely 2 days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead projects from early planning through execution and close-out, ensuring alignment with established project governance and controls
  • Develop and coordinate project scope, estimates, schedules, and execution strategies
  • Prepare business case inputs, background materials, and recommendations for leadership approval
  • Engage internal teams, contractors, and external agencies to secure approvals, permits, and clearances
  • Chair and facilitate meetings with designers, vendors, construction teams, and operations stakeholders
  • Review contractor schedules, work methods, safety plans, and quality procedures
  • Identify project risks early and develop practical mitigation strategies
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication across all stakeholders, including regulatory bodies
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and codes
What We’re Looking For
  • University degree in Engineering, Science, or Business
  • 6–10 years of progressive project management experience
  • 5+ years working in a live construction environment (planning through execution)
  • Strong experience developing project requirements, estimates, schedules, and execution plans
  • Background in facilities, infrastructure, or ICI construction
  • Solid understanding of cost control, forecasting, and contractor management
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and complex stakeholder groups
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • PMP and/or Professional Engineering designation considered strong assets
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with formal project management governance frameworks
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes (OBC, NBCC)
  • Experience supporting contract bidding, awards, and contractor oversight
