Finance Transformation Lead

Our client, a large and well-established organization, is seeking a Finance Transformation Lead to support a major SAP S/4HANA implementation.

This is a 24-month contract opportunity, fully on-site in Oshawa, offering a highly visible role within a complex, enterprise-scale transformation initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance workstream end-to-end through all phases of the SAP S/4HANA implementation, from planning and requirements gathering to go-live and post-implementation support
• Act as the primary liaison between finance business stakeholders, system integrators, and project teams, ensuring alignment on objectives and priorities
• Facilitate workshops to define, document, and optimize finance and accounting business processes, aligned with S/4HANA best practices
• Perform hands-on finance data activities, including data preparation, cleansing, migration, validation, and reconciliation
• Develop and execute test plans, lead business process testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), and drive timely issue resolution
• Create training materials and deliver hands-on training sessions to finance users
• Support change management initiatives to ensure user readiness and adoption
• Collaborate closely with IT and other business functions to ensure seamless integration of finance processes
• Manage workstream deliverables, timelines, risks, and issues, providing regular updates to project leadership
• Ensure finance processes comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
• Provide hands-on support during cutover, go-live, and hypercare, ensuring a smooth transition

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent accounting designation
• Proven experience leading finance workstreams in SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP implementations
• Strong, hands-on knowledge of end-to-end finance and accounting processes
• Experience working directly with system integrators and cross-functional project teams
• Demonstrated experience with data migration, business testing, and end-user training
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Project management experience is considered an asset
