Based in Downtown Vancouver, this established developer is reshaping the city’s skyline one iconic project at a time. They're known not just for their ambitious portfolio of high-profile retail, industrial, office, and residential projects, but also for their outstanding workplace culture and deep ties to the community. Currently, they’re looking to add a property accountant to their team, the ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience.

About the position
Reporting to the Controller, the property accountant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of both commercial and residential properties, some of the duties include but aren’t limited to:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and working papers for a portfolio of properties.
  • Review residential and commercial lease contracts and manage the move in move-out accounting processes.
  • Assist property managers with annual budgets, year-end recoveries and cash flow.
  • Provide monthly to actual variance analysis and review AP coding.
  • Evaluate and improve the existing coding system and have an understanding of the residential tenancy board rules and regulations.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, intercompany reconciliations and year and reporting.
  • Work on CAM reconciliations, rent rolls, review chargebacks from entities and reconcile expenses. 
  • Prepare GST filing, monthly bank reconciliations and review AR reports.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of property accounting experience.
  • Commercial Property accounting experience is required. 
  • Experience working with Yardi.
  • 5 days in office role.
Compensation and benefits
  • Salary: $70,000 to $85,000.
  • 3 weeks vacation.
  • Extended health and dental.
