The planning, scheduling and lean group of Integrated Construction Services work with operations groups to build on the culture by proving the return of time spent on planning, scheduling, and lean knowledge.  

Through training and engagement, set higher standards and support districts and individuals to reach those standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight to a team of planning, scheduling, and lean practice professionals supporting operational districts across the organization.
  • Sets the vision and direction for planning and scheduling excellence, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, operational directives, and industry best practices.
  • Oversees the delivery of technical training programs and coaching initiatives, ensuring consistent application of planning and scheduling principles across all project teams.
  • Guides the team in supporting challenged projects through scheduling audits, recovery planning, and performance optimization.
  • Leads the development and implementation of change management strategies related to schedule impacts, including time impact analysis and contractual compliance.
  • Champions the integration of schedule risk analysis into project planning, ensuring teams are equipped to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensures the development and maintenance of high-quality project schedules, providing strategic oversight and support to operational districts.
  • Directs the adoption and optimization of scheduling tools such as P6 EPPM and Deltek Acumen, including upgrade evaluations, testing, and documentation standards.
  • Mentors and empowers district champions in planning, scheduling, and lean practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Drives the evolution of planning and scheduling directives, business guides, and best practices, ensuring effective communication and implementation across the organization.
Qualifications
  • 10-15 years of progressive scheduling experience in construction or related field preferred, with 4 years of experience in a supervisory role an asset.
  • Must have managed teams / departments and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Confident executive presence and the ability to influence through polished presentations and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in construction management, engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Ability to manage/facilitate planning and scheduling for a project valued at or above $500M.
  • Expert knowledge of construction specifications, contract documents, building materials, methods and procedures, and the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts and proposal documents.
  • Extensive prior experience with project management and field construction operations and how a project is constructed, including logical sequencing of work through all phases of the project from pursuit to project closeout.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk, opportunities with appropriate solutions.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Deltek Acumen Fuse with knowledge of schedule analysis methodology.
  • Experience using schedule delay analysis methods and highly skilled in communicating results.
  • Travel expectations: Up to 50% throughout North America.
