Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin have partnered with our client to recruit an Office Assistant / Receptionist for an immediate temporary-to-hire opportunity based in Winnipeg.

Our client is seeking a reliable, professional, and approachable individual with previous corporate reception experience to provide backup front desk coverage within a large, fast-paced corporate office. This role supports the reception and administrative functions and is ideal for someone comfortable stepping in as the first point of contact when needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide backup front desk reception coverage, including greeting visitors, answering and directing incoming calls, and taking accurate messages during lunches, breaks, vacations, and peak periods.

  • Respond to email inquiries and liaise with internal departments as required.

  • Support mailroom operations, including filing, receiving, opening, sorting, scanning, labeling, and distributing mail and packages.

  • Coordinate courier requests.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, collating, printing, and binding.

  • Assist with sanitizing shared office equipment (e.g., printers and photocopiers) as part of team responsibilities.

  • Complete various administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of corporate reception experience, including providing front desk coverage (required).

  • Comfortable acting as the first point of contact in a professional corporate setting.

  • Strong administrative skills, including data entry, filing, and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.

  • Mailroom or facilities coordination experience is an asset but not required.

  • Professional, personable, and customer-service oriented.

  • Organized, reliable, proactive, and able to multitask in a busy environment.

  • Previous experience in a large corporate office environment is an asset.
