We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Lead to provide on-site clinical leadership and operational support for our client in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care by coordinating nursing activities, supporting a multidisciplinary team, and collaborating with internal and external partners.
The Clinical Nurse Lead will also step in to provide direct nursing care when needed, helping to maintain seamless service during staffing gaps. This position is essential in upholding clinical standards, promoting a safe environment, and fostering strong communication between healthcare staff, centre operations, and community resources.

Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Coordination
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the nursing team, including clinical decision-making, workflow management, and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee nursing assignments, monitor staffing levels, and step into RN duties when needed to maintain consistent client care.
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing performance development in partnership with the Manager of Clinical Practice.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with BCCNM standards and organizational policies.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for clients with a range of medical, psychological, and social needs.
- Participate in emergency response, chronic disease management, mental health support, and health education activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), contracted security, and internal operations to maintain a safe and respectful care environment.
- Coordinate care and follow-up with external healthcare providers, including hospitals, specialists, community clinics, and diagnostic services.
- Collaborate with on-site nurses, physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Communicate clinical concerns, risks, and incident updates to the Manager of Clinical Practice as required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and meets regulatory and organizational standards.
- Participate in case reviews, health and safety meetings, and interdisciplinary care planning.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, providing after-hours clinical guidance and support to staff as needed.
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience in Canada.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable, diverse, or marginalized populations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with flexible scheduling and participation in an on-call rotation.
- Assets:
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience (e.g., charge nurse, team lead, supervisor, or similar role).
- Experience in corrections, immigration holding settings, emergency, mental health, or community health environments.
- On-site role within a secure facility.
- May involve emergency response situations and occasional high-stress scenarios.
