About the Role
This Property Accountant position reports to the Accounting Manager and supports the full-cycle accounting function for a portfolio of residential rental properties. The role is suited to someone detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple accounting tasks related to lease administration, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

About the Role
This Property Accountant position reports to the Accounting Manager and supports the full-cycle accounting function for a portfolio of residential rental properties. The role is suited to someone detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple accounting tasks related to lease administration, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Enter, review, and activate tenant leases; maintain accurate rent rolls and ancillary charges
- Process rent increases and ensure compliance with lease terms and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with leasing, property management, and onsite teams on tenant and property-related financial matters
- Manage accounts receivable, including reviewing balances, posting payments, and preparing adjustments
- Process tenant charges, cancellations, fees, and security deposit releases
- Review, code, and enter AP invoices in alignment with budgets and operating agreements
- Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; reconcile amenity receipts
- Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial statements, and quarterly reporting
- Respond to tenant and internal inquiries; resolve issues related to tenant accounts
- Provide general administrative and reporting support to the accounting team
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
- 1+ years of experience in a property management setting is preferred
- Positive, proactive, team-oriented attitude with eagerness to learn
- Working toward CPA designation preferred
- Experience in property accounting, real estate, or property management is an asset
- Experience with Yardi Voyager is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Salary range: $60,000–$70,000, depending on experience.
