About the Opportunity
This full-time, permanent opportunity is ideal for an Intermediate Banking Paralegal who wants to specialize in banking and finance transactions. The team is extremely busy and requires someone who can independently manage banking files from start to finish. Training is limited to internal processes only—this role is suited for a candidate who can step in and contribute immediately without the need for supervision or review. You will also benefit from working in a structure where paralegals specialize in the types of files they enjoy most.

About the Position
The Banking Paralegal will work within a pooled paralegal structure, supporting lawyers engaged in banking and finance matters. You will independently manage real estate financing files, prepare mortgages and related security documents, coordinate loan closings, and handle all required Land Title Office filings. This role involves regular interaction with clients, solicitors, realtors, and other stakeholders, and requires strong organizational skills and a high level of transactional accuracy. The position offers a blend of autonomy, responsibility, and collaboration.

Requirements
Must Haves:
  • Minimum 2 years of banking paralegal experience
  • Paralegal diploma or equivalent post-secondary education in Paralegal Studies
  • Ability to independently manage banking/finance transactions without supervision
Technical Requirements:
  • Experience handling real estate financing matters for both lender and borrower clients
  • Strong understanding of mortgage preparation, security documentation, and Land Title Office procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal oversight
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, myLTSA, and common real estate–related programs
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with commercial real estate acquisitions and sales
  • Experience with land assembly and subdivision work
  • Familiarity with LOTA and PTT reporting requirements
Compensation
A highly competitive compensation package is offered, including:
  • Salary: $85,000 – 110,000
