We’re hiring a Property Accountant for a full-time, 1-year contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys full-cycle accounting, working closely with property management teams, and supporting a commercial real estate portfolio. The position is fully onsite downtown Edmonton.
This position will be starting immediately.

What You’ll Do
- Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, month-end close, bank reconciliations, GST remittances, and cash flow reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial properties.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and provide monthly variance analysis.
- Review rent rolls, assist with rent collection, and maintain accurate AR reporting.
- Support property management with tenant billings, chargebacks, tax billings, and move-in/move-out entries.
- Maintain accurate property accounting records in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with operating budgets, CAM/Tax recovery calculations, and annual notices.
- Support year-end audit processes, recovery reconciliations, working papers, and external auditor requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking activities, and resolve discrepancies.
- 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience in commercial property accounting is a strong asset (but not mandatory)
- Experience with Yardi Breeze is also a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel required)
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
