Stacey Danley at Aplin has partnered with our client, a growing national law firm, on the search for a Legal Assistant. Located on the west side of Winnipeg, this full-time in-office opportunity would be an ideal fit for a proactive, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and delivers exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, draft, and proofread correspondence, forms, and legal documents.
  • Manage electronic and physical files, including uploading documents into LEAP and maintaining precedents and calendars.
  • Assist with court filings (paper and electronic), service of documents, and tracking completion.
  • Enter lawyer time entries and support client billing processes.
  • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, travel arrangements, and office scheduling.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide updates to lawyers in their absence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments and provide coverage during absences or peak workloads.
  • Support general office operations and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Legal Assistant diploma or Office/Business Administration certificate (or equivalent experience).
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in a litigation-focused legal assistant role.
  • Strong understanding of court filing procedures and the ability to stay current with filing protocols.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); LEAP experience is an asset.
  • Reliable transportation to the office is required.
