The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a hands-on operational role in delivering full- spectrum HR support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position works closely with plant leadership and employees on the production floor to execute day-to-day HR initiatives and drive business results.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, Ontario labor legislation, and best practices for maintaining a positive, safe, and high-performing workplace culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a visible, on-site HR partner providing hands-on support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
  • Lead and resolve workplace issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies and Ontario labor laws.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies and programs consistently, ensuring compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation.
  • Partner with leaders to implement practical HR solutions that improve employee engagement, retention, and operational performance.
  • Maintain data accuracy and integrity within HR systems.
  • Support HR and compliance audits by ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key HR metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Employment Standards Act (ESA), the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and other applicable employment regulations relevant to manufacturing operations in Ontario.
  • Conduct exit interviews and use feedback to identify opportunities for workplace and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to streamline HR processes and enhance employee experiences.
  • Drive and support change management initiatives that promote operational excellence and organizational transformation.
  • Champion employee engagement and retention initiatives that strengthen culture and improve organizational performance
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CHRP designation considered an asset.
  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proven experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee groups.
  • Strong, hands-on HR generalist experience with a focus on daily plant operations and employee interaction.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR compliance, and best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, particularly in HR systems, documentation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence, and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem solving, and organizational skills.
