What You’ll Do:
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll provide both technical and managerial leadership across the Mechanical group, ensuring the successful delivery of projects that shape communities across Ontario.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
- Manage workloads, project assignments, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-accountability team culture.
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical system design for a wide range of buildings and infrastructure.
- Review and stamp mechanical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Oversee mechanical project delivery from concept to completion.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Conduct on-site visits, surveys, and condition assessments as required.
- Build strong relationships with clients, municipalities, and partner firms.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and proposal development.
- Support business development initiatives and help identify new opportunities.
- Contribute to department planning, budgeting, and quality control initiatives.
- Support long-term succession planning, including future partnership opportunities.
- Help drive innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices within the mechanical group.
- Transit infrastructure (rail, bus)
- Emergency services buildings (fire, police, EMS)
- Educational facilities
- Community centres and municipal/provincial/federal buildings
- Laboratories and specialty facilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and P.Eng. designation (required).
- 7–10+ years of mechanical design experience in building systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection).
- Prior experience leading teams, projects, or junior staff in a consulting engineering environment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu; familiarity with Revit considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site work.
- A passion for developing people and building a high-performance engineering team.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and quality.
