We’re currently hiring a Tax Preparer on behalf of a long-standing accounting office located in Downtown Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on T1 preparation, client interaction, and working independently in a steady, year-round environment.

Our client is a small, well-established public practice firm operating in a storefront-style office in Downtown Vancouver. The firm handles a high volume of personal tax returns and supports a loyal base of individual and small business clients. Known for its approachable team and consistent workflow, this is a great environment for someone seeking a long-term role with autonomy and routine.

About the Opportunity
As a Tax Preparer, you’ll focus primarily on preparing T1 personal tax returns while handling light bookkeeping and occasional support with simple T2 corporate files. You will work directly with walk-in and scheduled clients, manage your own files, and ensure accurate, efficient completion of each return. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a busy setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file T1 personal tax returns

  • Communicate directly with clients to collect information and clarify tax-related questions

  • Maintain accurate working papers, schedules, and file documentation

  • Support basic bookkeeping tasks when required

  • Assist with simple T2 corporate tax files

  • Ensure all work complies with CRA standards and internal procedures
The Requirements
  • 3+ years of T1 personal tax preparation

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple files

  • High accuracy and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent client service and communication skills

  • Basic bookkeeping experience

  • Simple T2 corporate tax experience

  • Public practice experience is an asset

  • Familiarity with common tax software
Compensation & Perks
  • Salary equivalent: $60,000 – $80,000

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Location: 100% in-office, Downtown Vancouver

  • Environment: Small, friendly team with steady workflow and direct client contact
