As a strategic planner and critical thinker, the Director of Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of the business’s operations. This role requires a results-driven leader with strong business acumen, financial insight, and the ability to align daily operations with long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all operational functions to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Foster collaboration and synergy across departments, business units, and internal teams to drive performance and operational excellence.
- Develop, implement, and optimize business strategies, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency, profitability, and overall corporate performance.
- Communicate key operational and financial information across departments, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Partner with the General Manager and Controller to design and execute corporate strategies, including fiscal and resource planning.
- Represent the organization at the Board of Directors level in a professional and strategic manner.
- Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, and talent development to support business growth and operational needs.
- Lead initiatives to strengthen workplace culture, build consensus, and improve internal communications.
- Support and lead internal committees that contribute to the effective operation and governance of the business.
- Manage, mentor, and motivate departmental managers to achieve organizational objectives.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans; ensure adherence to annual budgets and banking covenants.
- Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
- Meet regularly with department heads and business unit leaders to identify and resolve operational challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Professional license within the province of Manitoba preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience managing a production based facility.
- Strong business acumen with proven exposure to or experience managing P&L responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning and operational execution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of developing high-performance teams and improving operational outcomes.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in process improvement, fiscal management, and resource optimization.
