Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join their team in Winnipeg. The ideal candidate will bring a strong design sensibility and technical expertise to support a range of commercial design projects, from concept through to completion. This role will collaborate closely with clients, architects, and project teams to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable spaces that align with each client’s vision and brand identity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and present design concepts, space plans, and material selections for commercial environments.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other design software.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout all project phases.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors on materials, furnishings, and finishes.
  • Conduct site visits, measurements, and inspections to ensure design intent is maintained during construction.
  • Stay current on design trends, materials, and building codes applicable to commercial interiors in Canada.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field (required).
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in Canada, specifically in commercial interior design (corporate, hospitality, retail, or institutional).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Proficiency with design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligibility for or membership with IDC, PIDIM, or other relevant professional associations is an asset.
