Our client is looking for a Bi-lingual Insurance Risk Consultant! This position plays a key role in supporting senior management by providing outsourced insurance and risk management services to clients in the financial lending sector. This role involves assessing, reviewing, and advising on insurance programs related to commercial and personal lending activities. The successful candidate will work closely with lenders, financial institutions, and brokers to ensure adequate insurance coverage is in place for financed assets and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a primary liaison between clients, brokers, and financial institutions to support lending-related insurance and risk management needs.
  • Review and critique insurance programs for both new and existing loans, identifying areas of improvement or exposure.
  • Assist clients in completing insurance applications and developing underwriting information for risk assessments.
  • Evaluate and advise on coverage adequacy for commercial properties, construction projects, and other financed assets.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, including leases and construction agreements, ensuring insurance terms align with client and lender requirements.
  • Analyze clients’ Total Cost of Risk by compiling and interpreting financial and insurance data, creating reports and visual summaries of findings.
  • Provide recommendations on claims and claims management processes as needed.
  • Manage assigned projects independently and provide updates to senior management.
  • Collaborate regularly with internal team members across Canada through virtual meetings and communications.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or personal lines insurance, underwriting, brokering, or risk management (10+ years preferred).
  • Background in financial institutions, insurance underwriting, or brokerage strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of commercial property, liability, surety, and bonding insurance.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with the ability to interpret insurance policies and contractual terms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel experience is an asset).
  • Must be fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and client service orientation.
  • Licensing preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Bonus: Commission/Performance-based bonus potential
  • Benefits: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage 
  • Vacation: Minimum 3 weeks, flexible based on experience
