Our client, a reputable and growing organization in South Vancouver, is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join their collaborative finance team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented AP professional to contribute during a busy period, with strong potential for extension or a permanent role based on performance.

Our client is a well-established organization based in South Vancouver, known for its collaborative team culture, stability, and commitment to process improvement. With ongoing growth across their operations, they are looking to add an Accounts Payable Officer on a contract basis to support their finance team through a busy period. Strong performance in this role may lead to an extension or a permanent offer.

About the Role
This role is ideal for someone with strong full-cycle Accounts Payable experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, preparing payment runs, and assisting with month-end closing activities. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Process high-volume vendor invoices (3-way matching where applicable) and ensure accurate coding to the general ledger.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs (EFT, wire, cheque) and ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Assist with expense reports and employee reimbursement processing, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized AP records, supporting audits and internal controls.
  • Support month-end close through accruals, prepayments, and AP aging report reviews.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Contribute to process improvements and AP system efficiencies where possible.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 1–3+ years of Accounts Payable experience (corporate or shared service environment preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of invoice processing, payment cycles, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with accounting software such as SAP, Business Central, Sage, MS Dynamics, or similar.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
