About The Position
As the Occupational Health & Safety Manager, you will oversee and elevate the company’s health and safety program across multiple civil construction projects. You’ll ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and COR requirements, lead training and incident investigations, and work closely with project teams to integrate proactive safety planning from the ground up.

Location: Chilliwack, BC + active project sites (site-based, not remote)

Compensation details:
  • Base Salary: $100,000–$150,000 (DOE)
  • Bonus: Annual performance-based

Main duties:
  • Lead the company’s H&S program to meet WorkSafeBC, COR, and internal standards
  • Act as the primary contact for safety guidance and on-site support.
  • Manage the Salus platform for inspections, incidents, and corrective actions
  • Maintain PSSPs, documentation, and reporting compliance.
  • Conduct orientations, toolbox talks, and continuous safety training
  • Chair the JOHS Committee and promote engagement across teams
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses
  • Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective action plans
  • Manage WorkSafeBC reporting and follow-up requirements.
  • Participate in pre-construction and startup meetings
  • Collaborate with PMs and site leaders to embed safety planning into operations
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of H&S leadership experience in civil construction
  • In-depth knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and COR programs
  • Proven track record in conducting training and managing incident investigations
  • Experience with Salus or similar digital safety management tools
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract and willingness to travel
Preferred
  • NCSO, CSO, or CRSP designation
  • OFA Level 1+
  • COR Internal Auditor certification (or ability to obtain)
Work Environment
  • Site-based, year-round field work across BC
  • Exposure to active construction environments, equipment, and variable weather
  • PPE required at all times
  • Variable hours depending on project needs (early mornings and occasional weekends)
  • Frequent interaction with field and leadership teams
  • Utilizes Salus and other digital reporting tools for real-time safety management
