Position Overview
The Commercial Warehouse General Manager is responsible for driving overall business performance through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and strong client partnerships. This role oversees all aspects of multi-site warehouse operations, business development, and customer satisfaction while ensuring profitability, growth, and employee engagement. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the GM will execute corporate strategy, optimize operations, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to support long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
- Actively contribute to the Executive Leadership Team, supporting growth initiatives such as new client acquisition, service expansion, and potential mergers or partnerships.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable results.
- Identify new market opportunities, develop proposals, and secure long-term client relationships.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotes, and contracts, ensuring client satisfaction post-sale.
- Represent the company through client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Oversee multi-site operations to meet cost, quality, and service objectives.
- Lead the setup and launch of new facilities in line with corporate expansion goals.
- Implement and sustain continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Lean) to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Ensure operational processes align with business objectives and support outstanding customer service.
- Lead, coach, and develop management and operations teams to foster growth and accountability.
- Conduct performance reviews, address conflicts, and promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.
- Champion high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all teams.
- Manage P&L to meet revenue, cost control, and profitability targets.
- Monitor key performance indicators and recommend improvements to enhance financial results and operational outcomes.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in operations or logistics management, preferably within the 3PL or commercial distribution sector.
- Proven experience leading multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement practices.
- Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
- Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Office, and related tools.
