About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with two to three Partners in the group, supported by a collaborative team environment. The Wills & Estates Group meets biweekly for practice discussions and training, fostering a culture of mentorship, development, and professional excellence. You’ll be handling a broad range of estate files and working directly with clients, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are key. You'll also benefit from full training on advanced legal tech tools and a structured annual development process designed to support your growth and goals.

Practice Focus
- Estate planning and administration, including wills, trusts, probate, and incapacity planning
- Advising on and drafting enduring powers of attorney and personal directives
- Some estate-related litigation and dispute resolution
- Regular client-facing work with a focus on providing practical, tailored legal solutions
- Strong drafting skills and knowledge of estate processes required
- A long-term commitment to Wills & Estates law is essential
- 3 to 7 years of post-call experience in Wills & Estates (open to more senior candidates)
- JD or LLB and admitted to the Alberta Bar (no exceptions)
- In good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and client service skills
- Professional, polished, and community-minded
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Highly organized with effective file and practice management skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in estate litigation is an asset but not required
