Are you an experienced public practice accountant looking to take the next step in your career? We’re currently hiring a Senior Accountant on behalf of a well-established mid-sized accounting firm with a strong reputation across the Lower Mainland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on a variety of private company clients and wants to grow within a supportive, partner-led environment.

About Our Client
Our client is a reputable public accounting firm based in Vancouver’s west side, offering accounting, tax, and business advisory services to a wide range of clients including professionals, construction companies, non-profit organizations, and small to medium-sized private businesses. Known for their approachable culture and commitment to quality service, they provide employees with mentorship, flexibility, and opportunities to advance.

About the Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in managing assurance and tax engagements, reviewing working papers, and mentoring junior staff. You’ll have direct exposure to clients, work closely with partners, and enjoy a collaborative environment that values both technical excellence and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review working paper files and financial statements for compilation, review, and audit engagements.
  • Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, as well as GST/PST/WCB and other compliance filings.
  • Oversee client deadlines and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members, reviewing their work for accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate directly with clients and the CRA regarding tax and assurance matters.
  • Support partners in client relationship management and process improvement initiatives.
 The Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of public practice experience (CPA designation preferred).
  • Strong understanding of ASPE and experience with compilation and review engagements.
  • Proficiency with CaseWare, Taxprep, and other common accounting software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
 Compensation & Perks
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive health and dental benefits.
  • Paid professional development and CPA dues.
  • Four-day work weeks during summer months.
  • Collaborative, down-to-earth team environment.
  • Convenient westside Vancouver location – perfect for those wanting to avoid downtown commuting.
  • Hybrid flexibility after the probationary period.
