ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for the company’s manufacturing and production divisions. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in inventory management, cost accounting, and monthly financial reporting.
This is a 3-month ongoing contract with potential to become permanent, offering exposure to a dynamic and fast-paced environment with opportunities to support business growth and process improvement initiatives.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for the company’s manufacturing and production divisions. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in inventory management, cost accounting, and monthly financial reporting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple divisions within the manufacturing group
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with forecasts in line with operating plans
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules, including receivables, inventory, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts
- Review Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll for accuracy and compliance
- Reconcile key P&L accounts, including revenue, cost of goods sold, and SG&A
- Oversee GST/HST filings and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations
- Support cost accounting activities, inventory tracking, and process optimization
- Assist in preparing year-end audit working papers and liaise with external auditors
- Prepare and distribute weekly sales reports and provide analytical support to Sales and Operations teams
- Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
- Support full P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasting, including variance analysis and commentary
- Assist with the annual budget process and 5-year planning
- Conduct financial and margin analysis by product line, providing insights to support pricing and cost optimization decisions
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration
- CPA designation (or in progress) strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis within a fast-paced business environment
- Solid understanding of inventory and cost accounting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Sage is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands
- Proven self-starter who thrives in collaborative, deadline-driven environments
COMPENSATION
- Contract Duration: 3-6 months, with potential to extend or move permanent
- Salary: up to $85,000 converted into an hourly rate (dependent on experience)
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package upon permanent conversion
