Our client is a leader in the Auto insurance and financing/warranty industry. They are currently seeking an experienced Acturial leader with F&I industry experience to take a key leadership role in their Actuarial division.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of actuarial professionals, ensuring effective project execution, development, and performance management
  • Oversee liability projections, reserving, and pricing strategies for a broad range of automotive protection products
  • Drive participation in the Risk Committee, providing insights, risk analysis, and strategic recommendations; collaborate closely with the Pricing Committee
  • Advise leadership teams on pricing implications and risk exposure when developing or modifying products
  • Supervise and review actuarial projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and alignment with company goals
  • Compile and present data decks, pricing models, and projections to internal stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Conduct annual and as-needed rate level analyses and manage pricing adjustments for over 100 products across all Canadian provinces
  • Ensure pricing and reserving methodologies adhere to regulatory requirements and actuarial best practices
  • Partner with sales and product teams to understand OEM concerns, dealership trends, and evolving market dynamics
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement within the actuarial function through innovation and analytical rigor
Qualifications
  • Fellowship designation (FCAS)
  • Minimum 10 years of post-designation actuarial experience, preferably within auto warranty sector
  • Proven expertise in both pricing and reserving methodologies, with a strong understanding of their interdependencies
  • Advanced technical proficiency in SQL, R or Python (for GLM modeling), and Excel; familiarity with custom formula-based pricing systems is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing long-term vision with hands-on execution
