About the Opportunity
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant who enjoys working on diverse corporate and commercial files, supporting multiple lawyers in a busy solicitors’ practice. The role provides exposure to a variety of transactions and client work, from initial meetings to post-closing follow-up. After a probationary period, a hybrid work schedule may be available depending on business needs.

About the Position
The LAA will support a corporate-commercial partner and associate with a variety of legal tasks related to business transactions and client management. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational and communication skills and is comfortable handling a broad range of responsibilities to support legal professionals effectively.

Duties May Include (But Are Not Limited To):
  • Preparing legal documents and agreements
  • Assembling transaction and financing packages
  • Conducting due diligence and corporate searches
  • Coordinating closings, fundings, and related accounting
  • Supporting all aspects of transactions from start to finish
Must-Haves
  • LAA Certificate from an accredited program
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an LAA supporting a corporate commercial practice
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with private and commercial lending transactions
  • Prior involvement in due diligence processes
  • Exposure to conveyancing and property-related commercial transactions
  • Hands-on experience coordinating M&A closings or corporate reorganizations
  • Familiarity with legal technology platforms (e.g., BC Online, LTSA, Closing Folders, iManage, or similar)
Compensation
  • Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 annually
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental coverage, vision, life insurance, travel emergency care
  • Vacation: 3 weeks per year
