Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Property Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced real estate environment and possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing daily accounting functions, supporting property financial operations, and contributing to the success of an expanding property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Perform month-end and year-end journal entries, reconciliations, and banking transactions.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, management reports, and supporting working papers for all properties.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, confidentiality standards, and reporting requirements.
- Manage project job cost accounting and assist in preparing budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with external accountants for year-end financial reviews and audits.
- Support other accounting team members and demonstrate flexibility in assisting with cross-departmental needs.
- Participate in process improvements and system implementations, including Yardi Voyager transition.
- Degree in Accounting or a related discipline, with a CPA designation or progress toward one.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or property management.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE standards; familiarity with IFRS is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Spectra or similar accounting software; Yardi Voyager experience is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
- Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
