About the Opportunity
This position is ideal for a Family Law Clerk who enjoys managing their own files and having a direct impact on client outcomes. You’ll work alongside a team of experienced family lawyers and law clerks in a hybrid environment, with the flexibility to work from home several days a week.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting, property division, and support. With a strong onboarding process, legal tech tools, and the support of a high-functioning admin team, you’ll be set up for success in a role that values both professional independence and team collaboration.

About the Position
In this role, you will work closely with lawyers, clients, and administrative staff to support all aspects of family law files. You’ll handle client communication, manage file documentation, draft key legal documents using DivorceMate, and coordinate deadlines and court filings. The role requires strong familiarity with Ontario family law processes, including court filing and scheduling via CaseLines. You’ll also support trial preparation and attend client meetings both virtually and in person. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and brings a client-first mindset to their daily responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a Law Clerk program or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in family law (5+ years preferred)
  • Proficiency in DivorceMate, MS Office, Adobe, and legal practice management software (Clio preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Family Law Rules, CaseLines/Case Center, and Ontario court processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking ability
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technology
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days per week in-office
Nice to Haves
  • Experience supporting lawyers through trial preparation and attendance
  • Familiarity with client intake processes and drafting of retainer agreements
  • Comfort working in a fully paperless environment with digital tools and databases
  • Prior experience using Clio or similar practice management platforms
  • Interest in long-term growth within family law or taking on more senior responsibilities over time
Compensation
  • Salary Range: Comprised of a base and bonus structure totaling $80,000
