About The Opportunity
This position supports two litigators, including the group lead for litigation. The role requires an LAA with significant experience in managing court documentation, scheduling, inbox management, and overall practice administration. You’ll be joining a well-structured team that includes junior LAAs, general paralegal support, and e-discovery professionals so the expectation is for this individual to bring mature LAA expertise.
While hybrid work is possible, the litigation team is typically in-office 5 days a week, and the successful candidate should be comfortable with being on-site at least 4 days with 5 being preferred.

About The Position
Reporting directly to two busy litigators, you will be responsible for:
- Managing lawyer calendars, deadlines, and court appearances
- Inbox management and follow-up on time-sensitive requests
- Preparing and filing court documents (BCSC, SCC, Court of Appeal)
- Drafting correspondence and litigation documentation
- Liaising with clients, court registries, and other legal professionals
- Assisting with chambers applications and other hearing preparations
- Monitoring limitation dates and court timelines
- Supporting overall file management and document organization
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior LAAs as needed
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, ideally in litigation
- LAA Certificate from an accredited institution – required
- Strong knowledge of BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal rules and procedures
- Experience managing busy practices and taking initiative with minimal direction
- Confident preparing court documents, chambers materials, and legal correspondence
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Professional, resourceful, and detail-oriented
- Willing and able to work 4–5 days in office (litigation team is typically in daily)
- Paralegal experience or capabilities are a strong asset
- Previous experience in construction, insolvency, or class action files is an asset
- Comfortable supporting multiple lawyers in a high-performance team environment
This position offers a competitive compensation package, including:
- Salary: $55,000 – $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Comprehensive health & dental benefits
- Paid personal days
