Are you a CPA who thrives on both strategic oversight and hands-on execution? We’re seeking an Interim Controller – Real Estate to lead the financial management of our housing portfolio. Reporting to the CFO, this role is central to ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and stewardship across our property operations and development projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead full-cycle accounting, consolidations, audits, and reporting for housing operations.
  • Oversee property-related finance: rental income, capital reserves, development projects, acquisitions, and refinancing.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, compliance with GAAP and funder agreements, and efficient cash flow management.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring to support operational and strategic goals.
  • Mentor and grow a skilled finance team while fostering process improvements and system enhancements (Yardi expertise an asset).
  • Build trusted relationships with auditors, lenders, funders, and government partners.
What You Bring
  • CPA designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance leadership.
  • Knowledge of housing operations, property management, or real estate development finance is a strong asset.
  • A balance of strategic vision and hands-on financial expertise.
