Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.

As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in the firm’s success overseeing projects from proposal through to construction support. Key Responsibilities
  • Design concrete foundations, piles, structural steel, structural supports, and framing for a variety of projects.
  • Prepare preliminary engineering reports and comprehensive construction work packages.
  • Produce detailed design calculations, sketches, specifications, and material lists to support accurate construction cost estimates (using S-Frame or similar software).
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of existing concrete and steel structures.
  • Participate in site investigations to gather critical data for design development.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, conducting periodic site visits, and performing specialized structural inspections when required.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and contractors throughout all phases of design and construction.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) – required.
  • Strong experience in structural steel and concrete design for heavy industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of ASC codes and relevant industry standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional structural engineering experience.
  • Industrial building experience required; oil and gas sector experience preferred.
  • Strong design and analysis capabilities with S-Frame software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • A commitment to producing high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
