Join a leading employer in Halifax! Our client, a growing organization with a strong presence across Canada, is looking for a Payroll Administrator to support their multi-provincial payroll operations. This is an exciting permanent opportunity to work on Canadian payroll locally, with exposure to benefits administration, HR processes, and potential future involvement in U.S. payroll operations.

Benefits & Perks
  • Compensation: 50K to 62K Base Salary
  • Please note this role will be fully on-site at the client’s Halifax Office.
  • Permanent Opportunity +  2 weeks vacation for first 3 years, 3 weeks thereafter + Floating and Sick Days + Health & Dental + RRSP match/Life Insurance
  • Monday to Friday (40 hours a week)
Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 500 Canadian employees across multiple provinces
  • Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, RRSP, TFSA, and retirement plans
  • Manage employee data: onboarding, offboarding, status changes, ROEs, and year-end documentation
  • Prepare payroll reports for weekly, quarterly, and yearly reviews
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits
  • Collaborate with accounting teams for accurate payroll and benefits processing
  • Maintain electronic timekeeping systems and process manual timesheets
  • Support special projects and ad-hoc reporting as assigned by management
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of multi-provincial Canadian payroll experience
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables essential)
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of relevant legal payroll regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Union payroll experience is an asset
