As Capital Projects Finance Manager, you will:
- Lead financial oversight for major capital investments and infrastructure projects (typically $10M–$30M+ in scale).
- Manage project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure accountability.
- Deliver financial reporting and dashboards for executive and board-level decision making.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operational leaders to track performance and resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE) and governance requirements.
- Support funding applications and oversee financial arrangements with external partners and government programs.
- Contribute to long-term financial planning and strategic investment decisions.
Must-Haves:
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years of progressive financial management experience with a focus on capital projects, infrastructure, or construction.
- Proven track record with mid-to-large capital projects ($10M+).
- Strong skills in capital budgeting, project finance, and cost control.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Excel-based modeling.
- Ability to thrive in a complex environment with shifting priorities, navigating ambiguity with confidence.
- Excellent communication skills to partner with cross-functional teams and executives.
- Experience with ERP or project accounting systems.
- Knowledge of IFRS and ASPE for capital assets.
- Familiarity with procurement models (lump-sum, cost-plus, unit rate) and government funding agreements.
- Experience creating dashboards or performance tracking tools for executive reporting.
