We are currently partnering with a respected mid-sized law firm on a search for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong litigation experience, particularly in insurance defence.

About the Opportunity
This role involves comprehensive legal administrative support across all stages of litigation files, from file opening to trial preparation and closing. This position will provide direct support to two associates, one of whom also works with a paralegal. It is an onsite-only role, based at the firm’s office in downtown Vancouver.

About the Position
  • Opening and closing legal files
  • Organizing, maintaining, and filing both physical and electronic documents
  • Drafting and editing legal correspondence and court documents at the direction of lawyers or paralegals
  • Managing calendars, including scheduling appointments, discoveries, trials, and expert meetings
  • Assisting with trial preparation and maintaining up-to-date Lists of Documents
  • Coordinating with internal departments and external contacts as needed
  • Providing end-to-end file administrative support
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of related legal administrative experience, preferably in insurance defence litigation
  • Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant diploma (or equivalent post-secondary education)
  • Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures (BC Supreme and Provincial Courts)
  • Technological proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation
  • Salary: $60,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
