Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Field Service Manager oversees a team of field service staff and coordinates a comprehensive installation program within the commercial construction industry. This role leverages both internal teams and external contractor resources to deliver installation, maintenance, and service projects, ensuring efficiency through the use of technology.

Monday to Friday daytime position; 7:30-4:30pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee installation and service projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and objectives are met within established budgets and profit goals.
  • Supervise internal installers and engage external contractors for the installation of electronic access control systems, doors, hardware, and specialty products.
  • Collaborate with sales staff and project coordinators to ensure smooth installation of products sold on projects.
  • Provide exceptional customer service via email, phone, and in person, ensuring all inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Resolve customer concerns effectively, offering solutions or alternatives as needed.
  • Create work orders and schedule installation crews to meet construction project deadlines.
  • Interpret and analyze electrical blueprints to guide installation work.
  • Conduct performance evaluations at probation completion and annually thereafter.
  • Report progress against goals and highlight any personnel concerns to the Branch Manager.
  • Enforce safety policies both on and off-site.
  • Coordinate with installers, consultants, contractors, and end-users to ensure project success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sub-trades, contractors, and site supervisors.
  • Order and coordinate equipment and materials as required.
Education & Experience
  • Post-secondary education preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience required. Preference for someone with experience in managing offsite crew.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, with a strong background in health and safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
