Based in Burnaby, our client is a well-established organization in the Automotive Services/Trade Association sector and is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a designated CPA with over 7 years of relevant experience.

About the position
Reporting to the CEO, the controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, HR and IT functions for multiple entities. Some of duties include but aren’t limited to:
- Ensure strong fiscal management, internal controls, and compliance.
- Work with the CEO/President on annual budgets, planning, and audits.
- Oversee financial systems for contracts, reporting, payroll, and funding.
- Deliver accurate, timely reports and forecasts to help drive business decisions.
- Protect the organization’s assets, manage investments, and maintain strong banking relationships.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare long-term forecasts, and manage insurance renewals.
- Keep all legal, tax, payroll, and employment obligations up to date.
- Maintain and update the organization’s risk management plan.
- Maintain compliance with professional and licensing requirements.
- Actively participate in leadership, board, and committee meetings and oversee day to day operations.
- Oversee IT systems, strategy, and risk management.
- Manage external IT providers and keep IT assets up to date and functioning smoothly.
Requirements
- Designated CPA
- 7+ years of accounting experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary: $ 100,000 to $120,000
- Discretionary bonus
- 3 to 4 weeks’ vacation
