The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant experience and will be responsible for regular client interaction and hands-on oversight of the firm’s investment portfolio. Key responsibilities include ongoing management and monitoring of portfolio investments, analyzing periodic reports from portfolio companies, supporting the execution of new transactions, and leading efforts related to restructuring or capital recovery. The role also involves reviewing and implementing amendments to existing investments as needed.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Managing Partner, the VP, Portfolio will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Manage and monitor the private debt investment portfolio to ensure capital preservation, covenant compliance, and timely reporting.
- Conduct financial reviews and trend analysis to identify risks, breaches, or performance issues.
- Lead credit amendment processes, including structuring, negotiation, documentation, and implementation.
- Support borrowers through periods of transition by providing strategic advice and recovery recommendations.
- Coordinate with legal counsel, trustees, and third parties on loan modifications, payouts, discharges, and recovery actions.
- Maintain complete portfolio documentation and track key timelines and lender rights.
- Mentor and lead a team of analysts and associates, overseeing training, quality reviews, and workflow.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial tracking of investments.
- Prepare portfolio reports highlighting trends, risks, and assets under review or recovery.
- Escalate unusual activities and ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and conduct guidelines.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and automation.
- Deliver high-quality client service and manage day-to-day portfolio operations.
- 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a financial institution, private capital firm, accounting or consulting firm, or law firm
- CPA, CFA, LIT, CIRP, or J.D. designation is considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, law, or a related field
- 5 days in-office role
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Salary: $160,000 to $180,000
- Discretionary bonus with on-target earnings of up to $300,000
- 4+ weeks of vacation
