- Lead and mentor a collaborative finance team - AP, AR, general accounting, payroll, and reporting.
- Oversee monthly accounting close, ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Drive budget planning and monitoring (capital and operating).
- Manage payroll administration and year-end filings (T4s, reconciliations).
- Coordinate with plan custodians and manage investment transaction records.
- Guide annual audits, year-end close, and financial statement prep.
- Provide strategic support and financial acumen to leadership - cash flow planning, proposals, and board materials.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation and policies.
- Proven leadership in finance/accounting with experience managing a diverse team.
- Expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial planning, and reporting.
- A keen eye for accuracy and detail—especially during month-end and audit processes.
- Strong understanding of budget development and performance monitoring.
- Comfort working across multiple entities in a union environment.
