This is a full-time permanent position, Monday through Friday for someone who is detail oriented and able to work well both independently and within a team environment.
In addition to knowledge of and an interest in commercial real estate law, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess:
- knowledge of:
- land development – including phased developments, strata developments and bare land strata developments;
- air space parcels and subdivisions;
- drafting and registering restrictive covenants, easements, statutory right of ways and related documents;
- commercial leasing;
As a Senior Conveyancer, your duties include:
- Acting as point of contact and fielding incoming inquiries from clients, outside counsel and staff;
- Document preparation and management and logistical support for commercial transactions, including;
- Perform due diligence searches including BC Online registrations relating to companies, Personal Property Registry registrations, LTSA searches and ancillary searches relating to transaction;
- Review financing facility letters for commercial financing/development transactions and create/organize file to accommodate requirements, review and revise security documents received from lender’s solicitors as required, organize security documents for execution and delivery to lender’s solicitors and all other ancillary requirements for finalizing borrowing transactions; and
- Prepare closing books, trust reconciliations, billing and reporting letters.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Conveyancer/Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
- Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and function well under pressure
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel
- Experience with PC Law and Alf is an asset
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, impeccable teamwork & client service focus
- Motivated & proactive mindset
- The ability to work independently, exercise good judgement, confidentiality, and to adapt to changing demands.
- Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 (based on experience)
