SOX Contractor

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented SOX Contractor to support our ongoing compliance efforts, with a specific focus on Information Produced by the Entity (IPE). This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial information as part of the company’s ICOFR program.

Role Overview
As the SOX Contractor, you will work closely with various business units to assess, validate, and improve controls around IPE. You will also collaborate directly with external auditors, providing documentation, explanations, and support as required.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess IPE-related controls across business functions
• Work with process owners to document and strengthen control activities
• Support walkthroughs and testing procedures
• Identify gaps or weaknesses in current IPE processes and recommend improvements
• Ensure proper evidence retention, version control, and data integrity practices
• Assist with remediation plans and implementation as necessary

Requirements

• Strong understanding of SOX compliance, especially in relation to IPE
• Proven experience working with internal control frameworks and documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational teams
• Experience working with or for external auditors is an asset
• Contractor must be located in Alberta, with flexibility to attend in-person meetings in Edmonton

This is a 6-month contract position, with a possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
