Manufacturing Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead and provide oversight to our Design/Drafting and Maintenance teams. This role will play a key part in ensuring engineering excellence, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement across all mechanical systems and project designs. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Oversight:

• Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of mechanical designers/drafters and maintenance technicians.
• Provide clear direction, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of engineering projects and maintenance initiatives.
• Foster collaboration between design and maintenance teams to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Engineering & Design:

• Oversee the development of designs, drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software.
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards, safety requirements, and internal specifications.
• Approve engineering drawings, specifications, and material selections.

Maintenance & Reliability:

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to support equipment uptime and reliability.
• Evaluate root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective action plans.
• Oversee maintenance KPIs and continuously improve maintenance practices and asset performance.

Project & Process Management:

• Coordinate engineering projects from concept through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure effective communication between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
• Drive process improvements and capital project initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; P.Eng designation preferred.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong background in mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and maintenance practices.
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering documentation.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment considered a strong asset.
