Intermediate/Senior Accountant (Contract)

This 12-month contract role is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking for a new challenge!

Abount the Client:
We've partnered with an established real estate client that is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience.

Salary: $70,000 to $90,000

Abount the Position:
Reporting to the Controller, the senior corporate accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Oversee end-to-end accounting processes for corporate entities and work on consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare and review working papers and lead year end closing process.
• Work in collaboration with the external auditors for year-end audits.
• Assist the tax director, in preparing multiple reports for tax and banking compliance.
• Manage submissions to Statistics Canada to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior team members.
• Act as the main contact for third-party vendors and consultants regarding system enhancements and process improvements.
• Review and authorize mid-month and month-end corporate disbursements.
• Ad hoc duties as needed

Requirements:

• Pursuing or designated CPA
• 3+ years of corporate accounting experience
• Public practice experience is an asset.
• Real estate experience is an asset
