Our client is seeking a Consulting Network Engineer (Industrial IoT, Wireless and Core Networks) to join their team!

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting network solutions across a broad client base. As part of the advanced network team, strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to support sectors such as mining, telecom, health care, government, utilities, education, research, and finance. This is a hands-on-keyboard position, requiring in-depth knowledge of networking equipment.

Our client builds custom technology solutions. Their team includes software developers, systems and network architects, and project delivery experts. As part of a small, agile company, you’ll enjoy a focus on quality over quantity, and a strong culture of continuous learning.

They are looking for a network specialist who can adapt to diverse client needs and isn’t afraid to step away from the desk — sometimes in rugged, real-world environments. You’ll work with a wide range of technologies and enjoy extensive opportunities for growth and training.

What You’ll Do:
  • Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless radios
  • Quickly identify and resolve (or rule out) network-related issues
  • Carry a laptop and tool bag to client sites
  • Conduct wireless coverage surveys using mapping software
  • Pass client-required drug tests and WHMIS training
  • Understand how applications function over IP networks
  • Learn and work with technologies from Cisco, VMware, Dell, and Palo Alto
  • Rack and cable gear in both climate-controlled data centers and industrial environments
  • Set up and configure virtual gear in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Comply with on-site safety requirements (hard hat, steel-toe boots, reflective coveralls, etc.)
  • Learn rapidly, both on the job and independently
  • Accurately track project time daily
  • Travel occasionally, mostly within Western Canada
  • Help ensure critical systems like mine controls operate safely and securely alongside enterprise traffic

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in a related network engineering role
  • CCNA/CCNP (routing & switching or wireless) or CWNA certification is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of IP routing/switching, TCP/UDP protocol operations, and L2/L3 networking
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

Please note that this is a 3–6 month contract, ideally based in Saskatoon. However, other locations within Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta will also be considered, provided that travel is not an issue.
