Our client, a well-known GTA Law Firm, is seeking a motivated and client-focused Family Lawyer with 1 to 6 years of post-call experience to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Ontario family law and a passion for helping clients navigate complex emotional and legal issues with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle a full range of family law matters including divorce, separation, custody/access, child/spousal support, property division, and domestic contracts.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Prepare court materials, financial statements, affidavits, and legal correspondence.
  • Conduct client meetings, case assessments, and provide sound legal advice.
  • Negotiate settlements and draft/review separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, and parenting plans.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, including support staff, to deliver efficient and effective legal services.
  • Stay up to date on developments in family law and contribute to firm knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • 1–6 years of post-call experience in family law (or a mix of family and other litigation work with a desire to specialize in family law).
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
  • Compassionate, client-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with legal practice management software (e.g., DivorceMate, Clio) is an asset.
