Senior Underwriter

Our client is a Fortune 500-listed MGA with a global footprint in over 15 countries. As they continue to expand their presence in Canada, their Vancouver office is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a renewal portfolio and drive new business in complex commercial risks, including Excess, Umbrella, Package, and General Liability lines.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of a production target and represent the company at broker meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio primarily composed of General Liability, Excess, Umbrella, and Package policies
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships through regular visits and industry networking
• Ensure high client retention by processing policy changes efficiently and maintaining service standards
• Mentor and support junior underwriters as needed
• Report directly to the Vice President of Underwriting

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience underwriting Property & Casualty risks
• Strong background in Excess Casualty Lines is a strong asset
• Level 1 Insurance License (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
