Our client, a well known organization in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Production Bakery Supervisor to lead daily operations and ensure top-quality scratch baking. This hands-on leadership role requires expertise in large-scale production, team management, and process optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Baking & Production
    • Oversee the preparation, mixing, shaping, and baking of bread, buns, and other baked goods.
    • Ensure consistency in quality, taste, and texture by closely monitoring proofing times and baking conditions.
    • Identify and resolve production challenges to maintain efficiency and product standards.
    • Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring accurate measurements and timely restocking.
  • Team Leadership & Training
    • Supervise and mentor a team of bakers and packagers, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
    • Handle scheduling, training, and performance management for a rotating team of 10 bakers and 10 packagers.
    • Ensure adherence to food safety protocols, proper equipment handling, and workplace safety guidelines.
  • Operations & Efficiency
    • Develop and execute production schedules to meet demand while reducing waste.
    • Optimize workflow and implement process improvements for better efficiency.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot baking equipment, coordinating necessary repairs.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in high-volume scratch baking (handling large-scale production, not artisan baking).
  • Previous hands-on leadership experience in a bakery or production setting.
  • Strong ability to assess baking quality at a glance and make necessary adjustments.
  • Comfortable working early morning shifts (a full shift between 2 AM – 1 PM) and weekend hours. 
  • Relocation assistance may be available if you are in Canada, but outside of Edmonton and looking to relocate.
