Key Responsibilities
  • Process Design & Optimization: Develop and enhance manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Analyze workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and process variation.
  • Equipment & Tooling: Select, install, and maintain production machinery and tools. Design custom tools or fixtures when required. Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Quality Control & Assurance: Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Investigate root causes of defects and implement effective corrective actions. Partner with QA/QC teams to uphold high product quality.
  • Process Documentation: Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation. Ensure consistency of execution across shifts and operators.
  • Cost & Efficiency Improvements: Conduct time and motion studies to identify opportunities for reducing material waste, labor hours, and energy usage. Support cost-saving initiatives and lead return-on-investment (ROI) analyses. Manage work center layout changes and infrastructure improvements, including optimizing product flow.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams. Support new product introductions (NPIs) by ensuring manufacturability and providing technical support to production staff.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze production metrics such as yield, scrap rates, and cycle times. Use statistical analysis to drive process improvements and promote the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology throughout the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent; Lean or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification considered an asset.
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering.
Technical Competencies
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Self-motivated, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
