Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

Our client, located in Burlington, ON, is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator! This will be a 2- month contract with potential for an extension or to go permanent.

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: $30 to $40/hour
• Please note, this will be a hybrid (Twice a week Mondays and Tuesday in office at the Burlington, ON Office).
• 2-month contract with potential for an extension or to go permanent.
• Monday to Friday
• 35-hour workweek

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried, hourly, and contract employees
• Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
• Administer benefits programs (enrollments, changes, terminations)
• Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries, offering empathetic and clear guidance
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile data and support reporting
• Ensure compliance with employment standards, tax regulations, and collective agreements
• Conduct audits to maintain data accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Stay up to date with payroll legislation and best practices
• Liaise with payroll and benefits vendors (ADP, insurance providers)

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Payroll/Accounting
• Must have over 2 years of Full Cycle Canadian Payroll experience (at least 200+ payroll size)
• Enrolled or Completed PCP Designation is an Asset.
• Must be proficient with MS Office including Excel and ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience with Union payroll.  
• Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation (CRA, ESA, tax regulations)
